OLE!

We've decided on a date for our auction! Saturday May 8th we'll be selling all of our amazing collectables! Conveniently, this is Mother's Day weekend, so come buy something for your Momma! For those of you who are going with the more traditional gift of actually going to see your mothers, and will thus be missing out on the auction, we may also be holding one on May 22nd. (Only if there's anything left to give. So bring your moolah, and some boxes for hauling, and come score some sweet deals.

Sadly, as it turns out, Spaniards don't wear sombreros, so we wont be bringing these lovely items with us.  Good news for all of you who were so jealous of this amazing picture.  More previews of our merchandise to come.

Emotional Decisions

We've made a decision. We're signing a contract with Spain! We made the announcement at work this week (complete with a cake decorated to look like the world with an airplane flying from SLO to Spain, very beautiful). We sent in letters of resignation today, and letters to all of the families in our classrooms.  It was an emotional afternoon of excited congratulations and, for Erin, explosions of tears. Leaving the town we have known as home for years and years, and a job that has shaped who we both are is a big step.  And Erin doesn't take big steps without a lot of tears.  Alan is handling it much better, but we'll let you know how he's dealing with all of her tears later. As of now, we are relieved to have made a decision, excited about this move, nervous and sad about leaving, and PUMPED about an upcoming AUCTION. We'll decide on a date this weekend, and let you all know about the details next week.

Awaiting confirmation of Legit-ness...

We don't have a whole lot of information for any of you yet.  We have been going through the interview process with the Ministery of Education in Spain, and have an employment contract to sign.  We are waiting for a date to really talk to someone that can help us feel more sure of this as a real job rather than a sex-trade conspiracy (thank you April). If we find out that these people are legit, we're starting in Spain June 7th! Agh! That would mean that the next month and a half would be a mad dash to obtain work visas, quit our jobs, sell 95% of our crap (I mean... really amazing stuff that you need...), pack the remaining 5%, drive up and down the state saying goodbye to all of you, and flying off to start our new lives.
If it doesn't pan out, we may have a possibility with a school in Prague, which would mean all of the same crazyness a month or so later.
We'll keep you posted.

WooHoo!
